I know this was a while ago but it was still something that I learned about in technology.
When I visited the elementary classroom and we learned about the active board. It was interesting to see the differences between the active board and the Smart board. Which on is smarter?? :) It was encouraging to hear that the teacher was not able to learn everything really quickly and that it took her about a year before everything was second nature. The active board had a few different techniques. You were not able to write on the board and it uses something called a flip chart to present information. Also the main difference was that it was not connected to a computer. Everything was done on the board. I don't know if I like this more or not. When people use the smart board in class and it is not working they can easily walk over to the computer and use the mouse to make it work.
I think these two different boards have a lot in common but for now I like the smart board better just because I think I am more familiar with it.
